Exposure

Exposure

Over there across yonder sets the prairie Just beyond that the brook Each day I grow fonder and fonder and then merry Then I double took another look and what did I see A red and speckled gray woodpecker rapping on a tree I started to say "my heavens" This all happened so fast It was about 7 past 11 I didn't even feel the seconds pass So I take another glance I look just beyond the tree line There is snow on the ground but still there is sunshine My emotions went up and down I nearly lost my mind There is a cardinal Just as red as red can be In that moment I was in the right place in the world As if I fulfilled my destiny Then I stumbled upon a squirrel He was eating nuts by a tree He looked at me as to say "hey Mister give it a wirl" Don't knock it till you see Then my walk was over But what I day I had I nearly died from exposure But the good kind not the bad
